Overview

Tally is a parts inventory system built for VEX Robotics teams. It tracks where every part is, how many you have, who last touched it, and why.

It replaces the spreadsheet. Not with something more complex — with something simpler that actually works during build season.

What it does

• —Tracks parts by location (workshop → shelf → bin → robot)
• —Logs every withdrawal, deposit, and trade with full history
• —Handles intra-org part loans and transfers with approval
• —Sends trip invites and roster requests through each member's inbox
• —Provides fuzzy search across the entire VEX V5 parts catalog
• —Links bins and locations into one navigable tree
• —Builds packing lists for competition

What it doesn't do

• —It is not a CAD tool or robot design system
• —It does not connect to the VEX store for purchases (yet)
• —It does not run on-robot — it is a workshop management tool
